MCP Server

Provides tools for interacting with CoW Protocol's order book API.

Token Tools

cow_resolve_token - Look up a token's contract address by symbol.

• Parameters: symbolOrAddress, network
• Returns: Address, name, decimals, chain ID

cow_search_tokens - Search for tokens by symbol or name.

• Parameters: query, network (optional)
• Returns: Up to 10 matching tokens

Uses the official CoW Protocol token list (same as CoW Swap).

Order Tools

cow_get_quote - Get a price and fee quote for a potential trade.

• Parameters: network, sellToken, buyToken, kind (sell/buy), amount, from
• Returns: Estimated amounts, fees, expiration, order structure

cow_get_order_status - Check the current status of an order.

• Parameters: network, orderUid
• Returns: Status (open/fulfilled/cancelled/expired), fill percentage

cow_get_order - Get full details of an order.

• Parameters: network, orderUid
• Returns: Complete order data including tokens, amounts, signature

cow_get_trades - Fetch trade history for an address or order.

• Parameters: network, owner OR orderUid, limit, offset
• Returns: List of executed trades with tx hashes, amounts, timestamps

cow_get_auction - View current auction batch information.

• Parameters: network
• Returns: Auction ID, block number, orders in batch, token prices

Order Signing (V2)

cow_prepare_order - Prepare an order for signing with EIP-712.

Returns EIP-712 typed data JSON, foundry sign command, and curl command to submit.

Workflow:

1. Get quote with cow_get_quote
2. Prepare order with cow_prepare_order
3. Sign typed data with wallet
4. Submit signed order to CoW API

Contract Descriptions

• Settlement - Core contract that executes trades. Orders are settled through this contract.
• Vault Relayer - Pulls tokens from user vaults (Balancer/Aave) for settlement.
• Authenticator - GPv2AllowListAuthentication proxy - manages which solvers can submit solutions.
• ETHflow - Allows native ETH trades (auto-wraps ETH to WETH on settlement). Only on Mainnet and Gnosis.
• CoW Shed - Smart contract wallet for advanced order types (TWAP, discretionary, etc.). Creates "sheds" for managing complex order flows.
• Hooks Trampoline - Enables pre/post-trade hooks (callbacks before/after settlement). Ensures hook reverts don't prevent settlements.
• Flash Loan Router - Provides flash loans for solver operations, enabling single-block arbitrage and liquidations.
• AaveBorrower - Integration contract for Aave flash loans.

Local Development

The cowprotocol/services repo includes a playground - a Docker Compose setup for simulating the entire CoW Protocol infrastructure locally:

• Local development without mainnet/testnet
