Help search engines (and AI search) understand and surface the site. Most wins are basic and one-time.

Global default

Per-page basics

• Unique <title> (~50–60 chars) and meta description (~150–160 chars) on every page.
• Exactly one <h1> per page describing that page.
• Clean, descriptive URLs (/coaches/padel, not /p?id=37).
• rel="canonical" to avoid duplicate-content splits.

Social previews

• Open Graph + Twitter tags: og:title, og:description, og:image (1200×630), og:url. This controls how links look when shared.

Crawlability

• sitemap.xml listing real pages; submit it in Google Search Console.
• robots.txt that allows what should be indexed and blocks what shouldn't.
• Make sure content isn't hidden behind JS that crawlers can't render — server-render or pre-render key pages.

Structured data

• Add schema.org JSON-LD for what the page is: Organization, LocalBusiness, Product, Article, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList. This powers rich results.

Core Web Vitals (ranking factor)

• LCP < 2.5s, INP < 200ms, CLS < 0.1. Fast sites rank better and convert better (see v2 web-performance).

Content

• Target real phrases people search, in headings and body — not keyword stuffing.
• Descriptive alt text on images (also accessibility — see web-accessibility).
• Internal links between related pages.

Measure

• Set up Google Search Console day one. Watch impressions, clicks, and which queries land.

🇮🇱 Israel

• Hebrew keywords: research what Israelis actually type (often with/without nikud, slang, mixed Hebrew/English). Target both Hebrew and transliterated terms when relevant.
• Set lang="he" and correct dir; make sure Hebrew renders (not mojibake) for crawlers.
• Local SEO: LocalBusiness schema with Israeli address + phone; create/verify a Google Business Profile; get listed in relevant Israeli directories.
• Google.co.il + Hebrew is the main game, but don't forget English pages can rank internationally if you serve both.
• Hreflang tags if you publish the same content in Hebrew and English.
