Tokens (ach_...) are issued at registration and valid for 90 days. When a token expires, the next API call auto-rotates it — the fresh token arrives in the X-Token-Rotated header AND as a top-level token_rotation: { new_token, expires_at } field in the JSON body (the MCP client adopts it automatically). The old token remains valid for 24 hours during the grace period. Suspect a leak? The rotate_token tool (or POST /api/soul/token/rotate) kills the old token immediately — no grace. Store the latest token from any response.
