A fenced bash/python block in SKILL.md carries a natural-language imperative — "now run this", "execute the following command" — directing the agent to execute the fenced content. What looks like documentation becomes an executable payload the agent may run without ever asking you.
- Delete the imperative ("run this", "execute the following") from inside the fence.
- If you must show setup, label the block
text(notbash) so it reads as prose, not a command. - Move any real installer into a reviewed, version-pinned script in the repo and link to it.

Outlook Save Contacts
Auto-save every new email sender to your Outlook address book — installed end-to-end by Claude Code, hands-free.
When you exchange dozens of emails a day with new people (clients, prospects, lawyers, banks, etc.), manually saving each one as an Outlook contact is a tax on your time. This tool scans your Outlook inbox (and any folders you choose), detects senders who are not yet in your address book, parses their email signature, and creates a ContactItem automatically.

Installation in 3–5 minutes — driven by Claude Code
No copy-paste, no typing PowerShell commands. You paste one prompt into Claude Code, click "Allow" to approve each action, answer 2 simple config questions, done.
How it works
- Have Claude Code installed and signed in (claude.com/claude-code).
- Open a terminal. Run
claude. - Copy-paste the prompt from
CLAUDE_INSTALL_PROMPT.mdinto the conversation. - Send. Claude Code runs every step itself: checks prerequisites, downloads the code, installs Python dependencies, detects your Outlook accounts and folders, writes
config.yaml, registers the Windows scheduled task, runs a dry-run test, then the first real run. - You approve each command with a click and answer 2 questions in plain French:
- Which Outlook folders to scan (in addition to Inbox)?
- When to run, and how often (e.g. "3× per day: 8:30, 12:30, 4:30 PM")?
- Done. The scanner runs autonomously on the schedule you chose and emails you a recap.
Why Claude Code (not Claude.ai web)? Because Claude Code can execute PowerShell and write files directly. No paste-back, no copy-pasting outputs, no troubleshooting friction. The install completes 3–5× faster than a chat-only approach.
Prerequisites
- Windows 10 or 11
- Outlook desktop (classic) installed and configured with at least one account
- Python 3.9+ on
PATH(python.org) — Claude Code will detect if missing and guide you through the install - Claude Code installed + active Anthropic plan (Pro/Max or API credits)
What the tool does
Every run (configurable: once daily or 3× daily):
- Loads your existing Outlook contacts (Email1/2/3Address — full lowercase match)
- Scans your configured folders + all their sub-folders, recursively
- For each unique sender not yet in contacts, parses the email signature and extracts:
- Full name (from email From display)
- Company (matches SA / SARL / GmbH / Ltd / Inc / Partners / Cabinet / …)
- Job title (matches CEO / Director / Founder / Partner / Manager / Avocat / …)
- Business phone + Mobile (heuristic CH / FR / international)
- Website (excluding trackers, social, file shares)
- Address (Street + Postal code + City — French and German compound words like Einsteinstrasse supported)
- Creates the contact in Outlook via COM (
outlook.CreateItem(2)) - Sends you a recap email with two tables: complete contacts (green) and incomplete contacts (red, with the list of missing fields per record)
- Even when 0 contact was created, a heartbeat email confirms the run went fine — so you know the protocol is alive
The script never updates or deletes existing contacts. It only creates new ones.

config.yaml is generated by the wizard (or by Claude Code during the guided install). Every option is documented inside config.example.yaml.

How the signature parser works
The parser is a regex pipeline. For each candidate email:
- Cut the quoted thread at the first occurrence of common markers:
De :,From:,Le … a écrit,On … wrote:,Envoyé de mon iPhone, horizontal rules, etc. - Find the last salutation (
Cordialement,Best regards,Sincerely,Salutations distinguées, …) — everything after it is the signature block. - Extract phones, URLs, addresses, job title and company from that block.
- Anti-contamination: reject phones/URLs/emails that match your own (
self_filter). - Address regex: handles both
Avenue X 6, 1006 Lausanne(FR/CH modern) and6 Avenue X, 1006 Lausanne(FR classical) AND German compound streets (Einsteinstrasse 2).
It will not catch every signature (Letsignit / image-only signatures = nothing in plain text body — known limitation). For these, the recap email flags the missing fields in red so you can complete them manually in Outlook.
Privacy & safety
- No outgoing network calls in production. Once installed, the script runs locally via the Outlook COM interface only. Claude Code helps during install — afterwards, the LLM is no longer in the loop.
- No write to existing contacts — only
CreateItem(2). Worst case = a duplicate, never a destructive change. - No telemetry. The script doesn't phone home.
- Source code = audit. The whole tool is a single file (
save_contacts.py, ~700 lines). Read it before installing.
Uninstall
